MASS AT FAIRGROUNDS: There will be a Catholic Mass at the Canfield Fair at 8 a.m. Sunday with Youngstown Bishop David Bonnar as celebrant.

CONCERT SERIES: First Baptist Church of Niles will host the Hyssongs in concert at 7 p.m. Sept 11 .There will be a hymn sing at 6:30 p.m. A love offering will be accepted.

GRIEF SHARE: Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield, will offer a grief share support group 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays Sept. 15 to Dec. 8. Help and encouragement will be offered following the death of a loved one.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Mahoning District Council plans a Community Outreach event 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane in Youngstown. Volunteers from both the host church, which is part of St. Columba Cathedral Parish in Youngstown, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will offer guests a free to-go meal, free groceries and free bags of clothing on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Mahoning District Council also provides a free meal six days a week at its 430 Williamson Ave. dining hall location in Youngstown, daily bread and other groceries at the food pantry at 321 Via Mt. Carmel in Youngstown, and low- to no-cost clothing, furniture and more at its Thrift Store & Donation Center, open to the public, located at 7392 Market St. in Boardman. OBLATE SISTERS EVENT: The Oblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Auxiliary in Hubbard will have the annual Bella Sera Dinner Dance 6 to 11 p.m,. Sept. 26 at Leo’s Banquet Hall, 7042 E. Market St, Warren.

PRISON MINISTRY: The Diocese of Youngstown is hosting its annual Prison Ministry volunteer retreat and training as part of a larger campaign to increase the number of Catholics engaged in prison ministry in all six counties.

The one-day training event is an opportunity to learn about a range of prison and jail ministries in the diocese, including visitation and letter-writing. Both

current and prospective volunteers are welcome to come, including parish ministers and clergy. Training takes place 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at Immaculate Conception Hall, 251 W. MOTHERS' CIRCLE: Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will have the Monthly Mothers' Circle with Mia DiRienzo Olson 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 18. Registration is encouraged, especially for those who plan to bring children.

Throughout all of human history, women have been gathering in community to support one another through the transformative processes of their monthly cycles, pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood.

Mothers' Circles are informal, discussion-based gatherings in which women can come together to process the joys, griefs, hardships and fears of mothering in our modern world.
