The Office of Vocations for the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown has launched a new website, www.doypriesthood.org to assist those who are called to the priesthood.
The Rev. William Wainio, director of the Office of Vocations, is calling on parishes, schools and organizations throughout the Diocese to partner with the office by helping spread the word about these new initiatives.
"Together, we can foster a culture of vocations, encourage those whom God is calling, and support the church’s mission of inviting more people to listen for and respond to His call,'' Wainio said.
The new website coincides with the launch of a bi-monthly vocations vodcast "Echoing The Call," hosted by Wainio. The theme is joyful conversations about prayer, the priesthood, discernment and listening for the voice of God.
"As Director of Vocations, one of my greatest privileges is accompanying young people as they discern where the Lord is leading them. It is inspiring to witness the Holy Spirit at work in hearts that are open to God's call, and I am grateful to walk alongside them on this journey of discernment," Wainio said.

Wainio said while the mission remains unchanged -- to help men and women discern and respond to God’s call -- the branding has been refreshed to better reflect that mission.
"We are also excited to launch our new website and introduce our new vocations vodcast, both designed to provide engaging resources, inspiring stories and practical tools for those discerning their vocation," Wainio said.
Wainio notes that he is available to assist parishes, schools and diocesan organizations in fostering a stronger culture of vocations through local promotion and outreach efforts.
He is also encouraging every parish throughout the Diocese of Youngstown to establish a formal Vocations Committee dedicated to promoting and supporting vocations within their community.
