TOWN HALL: Mahoning Valley People's Action Alliance and United Steelworkers SOAR, will host a Town Hall meeting at 2 p.m. Aug. 14 at UAW 1112 Hall, 11471 Reuther Drive, Warren.

Discussion will be on the needs of working class Americans in the Valley, with focus on seniors and Affordability, on the anniversary of the founding of social security.

THE GATHERING PLACE: The Gathering Place Senior Center is hosting Stefan Jones, local and Civil War Historian, at 11 a.m. Monday at Fair Park (new location), 82-84 Fair St., Canfield.

Jones will present the history with a professional slide presentation on the WWI First Code Talkers. The Menu will be potluck. The board will provide sloppy joes.

This is a free community outreach social program offered to all senior citizens that is held on the second Monday of each month. Reservations are not required.

SENIOR WATCH: The Liberty Township Senior Watch Program invites local residents aged 60 and older to learn more about their complimentary services. The program supports independent living through wellness checks, daily phone calls and home safety enhancements. At your request, Township Safety Forces can install emergency entry lockboxes, and firefighters can equip your home with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
