Mobile Van Wednesdays at the East Palestine Library will bring the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center Mobile Mammography Unit to the area to perform breast cancer screenings and the Mercy Health Mobile Dental Van for dental care. Walk-in labs and mental health screenings are available at East Palestine Primary Care throughout the month.

Dental Van:

• Every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 to 10 a.m. No appointments are necessary for these screenings. New patients can review screening results by appointment.

Mental health screenings:

ADDICTION HELP MEETINGS: SMART Recovery’s 4-point program is the organization’s flagship secular program serving those with addictive behavior, including both substance and activity / process addictions. Trained volunteer facilitators lead effective mutual support group discussions from noon to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Thursday on topics such as building and maintaining motivation; coping with urges and cravings; managing thoughts, feelings and behaviors; and living a balanced life.

PRENATAL PROGRAM: The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown is offering a five-week prenatal program, JBaby, at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays from March 5 to April 2 at the JCC, 505 Gypsy Lane.

The program will include courses taught by certified professionals and will cover topics such as infant first aid / CPR and newborn safety, prenatal and infant nutrition, including a “how to” class on making your baby’s first foods, as well as yoga classes.
