Master Gardener Volunteer Open House

What: A drop-in meet-and-greet with Mahoning and Columbiana County Master Gardeners to learn about becoming a Master Gardener Volunteer and share your enthusiasm for gardening with others.

When: 3 to 5 p.m. Jan. 16

Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Training

What: This 12-week course covers geology, soils, mammals, reptiles, forestry, entomology, ornithology, mammals and more. Participants will hear from local experts and interact with nature. Course is eight Tuesday evenings and four Saturdays. Completion earns Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Certificate.

When: Starts Feb. 20; applications due Jan. 5

Location: OSU Extension-Mahoning County, 490 S. Broad St., Canfield, plus four onsite locations at nature centers and parks.
