Master Gardener volunteer open house
What: A drop-in meet-and-greet with Mahoning and Columbiana County Master Gardeners to learn about becoming a Master Gardener volunteer and share your enthusiasm for gardening with others.

Ohio certified volunteer naturalist training
What: This 12-week course covers geology, soils, mammals, reptiles, forestry, entomology, ornithology, mammals and more.
Participants will hear from local experts and interact with nature. Course is 8 p.m. Tuesdays and 4 p.m. Saturdays. Completion earns an Ohio certified volunteer naturalist certificate.
When: Starts Feb. 20; applications due Jan. 5
Location: OSU Extension-Mahoning County, 490 S. Broad St., Canfield, plus four on-site locations at nature centers and parks.
