Ticket stubs: Youth theater presents ‘Grimm’ comedy

Playhouse Youth Theatre stages "The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon" this weekend at the Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane.

Shiloh Hart directs the one-act comedy by Don Zolidis that mashes up all the Brothers Grimm fairy tales into one madcap story.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range from $18 to $28 for adults and $13 to $23 for children and are available online at youngstownplayhouse.org/boxoffice/ and by calling 330-788-8739.

Warren library offers Ghost Walk preview

Folks can get a sneak peek of this year's Trumbull County Ghost Walk at a rehearsal at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren.

Actors will perform the stories for the 40th annual tour through the county's history. This year's theme is "Pioneers and Posterity." The rehearsal starts at 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free, and an ASL interpreter will be part of the presentation.

Ghost Walk is Oct. 16,17, 23, and 24 with tours leaving from First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, between 6 and 8:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are $10 with children ages 6 to 12 admitted for $5 and free for those ages 5 and younger. Tickets are available online at ghostwalk.trumbullcountyhistory.org.

Sips & Scripts serves up 'Cupcake'

"Cupcake with Blue Frosting" is the next offering in Kent State University at Trumbull Theatre's Sips & Scripts play reading series.

Shiloh Hart will direct Sam Hendrian's play about finding a sense of purpose and value in a world that can be all-too chaotic.

It will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Modern Methods Brewing Company, 125 David Grohl Alley, Warren. Doors open at 7 p.m., and admission is free.

Spanning the Need releases Halloween maps

Spanning the Need released its 2026 Halloween Loop map, giving families across the Mahoning Valley a ready-to-drive guide to the season’s best trick-or-treat displays.

Now in its fourth year, the Halloween Loop covers 11 self-guided routes spanning five counties. Each loop groups nearby decorated homes and businesses into a short, drivable route with a one-tap Google Maps link.

Displays range from family-friendly to spine-chilling, and several loops include bonus stops supporting local causes. The maps can be found at spanningtheNeed.com/holiday-loops.

Warren Historical Players present Halloween program

The Warren Historical Players will present "Dr. Halloween: A Presentation on the True History and Customs of Halloween" at CharBenay's Wine on the River, 220 W. Market St., Warren.

The program is at noon Oct. 11 and preceded by a brunch buffet at 11 a.m.
