Reader series presents Ohio poets

Two Ohio poets will be featured at the next Lit Youngstown First Wednesday Reader Series event.

Diane Kendig's latest book is "Woman with a Fan: On María Blanchard and Prison Terms" and she co-edited the tribute anthology "In the Company of Russell Atkins."

Kendig led a prison writing workshop for 18 years and now curates Cuyahoga County Public Library's weblog Read + Write and writes for Free Poetry Cleveland.

Named the 2022 Ohio Poet of the Year for her chapbook "Hunger," Erica Manto Paulson is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and holds a degree in creative writing and English literature.

Her poems have appeared in Thimble Literary Magazine, Sheila Na Gig, the Northern Appalachia Review, Slippery Elm and has been featured on WYSO-FM's "Conrad's Corner.”

The reading starts at 7 p.m. at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, in its Trophy Room, which is accessible only by stairs. It will be followed by an open mic, and ASL interpretation will be provided.
