Rust Belt Theater Company founder Robert Dennick Joki will do a fundraising performance of his one-person show "I'm Not That Girl."

According to Joki, "It's a show full of songs I was never meant to sing, in roles I will never play."

"I'm Not That Girl" challenges gender norms with songs from popular and original musicals. It was first performed in 2009 as a benefit for the Oakland Center for The Arts. That year, it was given the award for "Best Theatrical Event" by the Youngstown Area Community Theater Alliance.

It was staged again in 2012 and 2018 as a fundraiser for gender affirming care for individuals in the Youngstown area. This time all proceeds will benefit the Rebel Rescue Ranch, a nonprofit organization that helps small domestic and exotic animals in need.

"I'm Not That Girl" starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at The Playhouse Downtown, 220 W. Boardman St., Youngstown. All seating is general admission. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling 330-507-2358.

Starting at /week.
