The golden anniversary of Dennis and Sherry Matey was celebrated June 7, 2025, at the Bessemer Croatian Club, the location of their wedding reception 50 years ago. Mr. And Mrs. Matey were married June 7, 1975, at St. Joseph the Worker Church, previously of New Castle, Pa. The reception was a surprise given by their children, Chalsa Matey of Columbiana, Kelly and Seth Matey of New Springfield, and Kyla and J.T. Joyner of Novelty. James A. and Evelyn M. Osborne Sr. of Boardman Township, observed their 70th anniversary at a celebration on July 19, 2025, hosted by their children. James Osborne Sr. and the former Evelyn Whiteside were married July 9, 1955, at Glenwood Primitive Methodist Church in Youngstown. Evelyn retired from the Registration Office at Youngstown State University. James retired in 2000 from General Motors in Lordstown. Dennis and Carol Singley of Austintown are celebrating their 55th anniversary on June 7, 2025. Denny and the former Carol Harmon were married June 7, 1970, in Fowler. They have one son, Nathan, at home. After graduating from Warren Harding High School in 1963, Denny served his country for four years with the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam.
