Blaney leading weather-delayed race in Atlanta

HAMPTON, Ga. — Pole winner Ryan Blaney held the lead when severe weather caused a delay in the NASCAR Cup Series race at EchoPark Speedway on Sunday night. There had been concern about approaching rain before lighting within eight miles of the 1.54-mile oval track near Atlanta led NASCAR officials to order cars off the track and advise fans to exit the grandstand. The Mahoning Valley Scrappers dropped their fourth straight game on Saturday, falling to West Virginia 5-4, as the Black Bears completed a three-game series sweep. The Scrappers led 4-3 through seven innings, but the Black Bears scored the go-ahead runs on a two-run ground-rule double by Cayden Gaskin in the bottom of the eighth inning.
