According to a recent report from Edmunds, more than 26% of new-vehicle trade-ins in the second quarter of 2025 had negative equity — the highest share in more than four years. Local consumers continued to drive Mahoning Valley vehicle sales in September and for the year, the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association reported in its monthly survey. Buyers in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties again made Boardman Subaru the leader in new and used car sales, with 150 and 108 respectively. NEW YORK (AP) — A monthslong calm on Wall Street shattered Friday, and U.S. stocks tumbled after President Donald Trump threatened to crank tariffs much higher on China. Weekly state unemployment number pushes past 46,000

Staff report Ohioans filed 46,114 unemployment claims Sept. 28 through Oct. 4, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported Thursday. Initial unemployment claims for the period numbered 5,159 last week, 677 more than the previous week. Continued unemployment claims were 40,955, 398 fewer than the previous week. The state’s unemployment rate for August was 5% compared to the national unemployment rate of 4.3%. In August, Ohio’s labor force participation rate was 62.5% versus 62.3% nationally. Tesla hit with probe after crashes involving self-driving feature

NEW YORK (AP) — Federal regulators have opened yet another investigation into Tesla’s self-driving feature after dozens of cases in which the cars ran red lights or drove on the wrong side of the road, sometimes crashing into other vehicles and causing injuries.
