OAC has plan for its slate

The Ohio Athletic Conference announced preliminary spring competition schedules for the four team sports that were postponed this fall due to COVID-19.

The schedules include football, men’s soccer, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball for these NCAA Division III sports.

Schedules feature conference-only competition and do not exceed the NCAA 50-percent waiver so that all student-athletes will retain one of their four seasons of eligibility.

Schedules are currently planned to begin on the weekend of March 12, 2021 and conclude on the weekend of April 16 with championship games in all sports.

Football games are scheduled for Fridays starting March 12 and ending April 16 with the top seeds from East and West Divisions playing for the OAC Championship.

Baldwin Wallace, John Carroll, Marietta, Mount Union and Muskingum are in the East Division, while Capital, Heidelberg, Ohio Northern, Otterbein and Wilmington are in the West Division.

Men’s and women soccer starts March 14.

Sunday contests begin at 2 p.m., while weekday matches start at 4 or 7 p.m., depending on the host.

The top seed hosts the second seed for the OAC Championship on April 18.

Women’s volleyball begins March 12 with matches played on Tuesday and Friday nights until April 9.

The top four teams play in the OAC tournament beginning April 13 with the OAC title game on April 16.
