Greatest Day of Golf on July 20

A collection of some of the area’s best young golfers, many competing at the collegiate level, has teamed together for the Greatest Day of Golf, an event to raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown.

The young golfers — who are gathering pledges based on the number of holes they will play — will golf from sunrise to sunset on July 20 at the Trumbull Country Club. The more holes they complete — they are targeting 120 — the more money they raise for BGCY.

“As the club reopens this summer from being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the investment from great events like The Greatest Day of Golf helps the club to continue providing the youth in the community quality programming and ensure enhanced safety measures,” executive director Germain McAlpine said in a release.

Caprice Health Care Centers is sponsoring the event which is being produced by The Greatest Golfer.

Youngstown State golfer Ken Keller is managing the event launch for The Greatest Golfer. Donation information is available at TheGreatestGolfer.com.

Players taking part include Brandon Pluchinsky (South Range / YSU), Joe Cilone (East Liverpool / West Liberty), Jenna Jacobson (Poland / YSU), Hadley Spielvogel (Mooney / YSU), Nick Braydich (Mooney / Ohio Wesleyan), Rebell Strollo (Mooney / Ohio State), Joe Shushok (Fitch/YSU), Brian Velasquez (Poland / Miami, Ohio), Zach Jacobson (Poland / YSU), Nolan Snyder (Western Reserve / YSU), Peyton Snyder (Western Reserve), Bobby Jonda (Boardman / YSU), Brendan Glosser (Poland / YSU) and Nick Hough (Mooney / YSU).
