ALLIANCE — The No. 7-ranked Mount Union University men’s basketball team defeated Heidelberg 97-66 in the semifinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament Thursday.

McDonald High School graduate Braedon Poole had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Purple Raiders (24-3) — tying the school record for 16-straight victories. Mount Union hosts No. 3 seed John Carroll, an 86-79 winner over No. 2 seed Marietta, Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

D’Vontay Friga led the Raiders in scoring with 20.
