Ebony fame event is Friday

The 23rd annual Ebony Lifeline Sports Museum’s all-sports banquet is scheduled Friday, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Hall, 243 Mr. Carmel Ave., Youngstown.

Ten former greats will be inducted into the museum. In addition, Chaney High School student T’Shawn Jones will receive the McCullough Williams Jr. Commnity Service Award, and Joyce Davidson, Know Your Neighbor Black Watch will receive a Community Service Award.

Inductees are Larry Clark, Charles Ratliff Jr., Pablo Garcia, Walter Reyes, Brian Hall, Danny Smith, Ernie Jones, Matthew Snipes, Chester Mitchell and John Venable.

W.J. Cobbin will be the speaker and Joyce Balwin is mistress of ceremonies.

Tickets are available at L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home and at F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home. They also can be purchased by calling Nick Clark at 330-402-4602.
