SOFTBALL
Malena Toth tossed a five-inning no-hitter and Lauren Fitzgerald drove in six runs while hitting two home runs as Canfield blasted Poland, 12-0. Macey Kalina also homered for the Cardinals, driving in two runs.
Western Reserve built an 11-3 lead through five innings and held off a Springfield rally, beating the Tigers 12-10 in a Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Scarlet Tier game. Hannah Heath was the winning pitcher and also drove in three runs on four hits. Haleigh McCalla had a homer, a double and five RBIs for the Tigers and Abby Joseph added two doubles, a single and two runs batted in.

BASEBALL
POLAND — Mitchell Seymour tossed a one-hitter and struck out 12 as Springfield defeated host Poland 4-0 on Friday. A.J. Patellis had the Bulldogs’ only hit.
A.J. Stallsmith provided half of the Tigers’ offense. He singled, doubled and drove in two runs.
South Range’s Luke Blasko tossed a five-inning no-hitter in the Raiders’ 11-0 win over Madison at the Ripken Experience Tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Blasko struck out five in the win. Michael Perry added a home run and five RBIs. Trey Pancake also homered. He drove in three.
SOFTBALL
Springfield’s Abby Joseph struck out 10 in a 16-0, two-hit shutout of Lowellville. Joseph walked one and also had four hits (two doubles) and four RBIs.
McDonald’s Bri Callow struck out 16 in a three-hit shutout of Columbiana, 2-0. Lucia Wolford powered the Blue Devils (5-1) offensively with two hits and two RBIs.
