Callow tosses perfect game

SOFTBALL

McDonald’s Bri Callow twirled a perfect game, striking out 17 as the Blue Devils beat Mineral Ridge, 7-0, in a Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference matchup. Lucia Wolford socked a homer for McDonald to power the offense.

Sebring’s Delaney Reggi had four hits and drove in four runs as the Trojans rolled past Chaney, 16-0, in five innings.

Both Ava Davanzo and Audrey Smith had three hits for the Clippers in a five-inning rout over Western Reserve Thursday. Davanzo had three doubles on the afternoon and both her and Smith knocked in two runners. Mackenzi Gamble picked up the win, with nine strikeouts and zero walks.

BASEBALL

South Range’s Michael Perry had four hits and four RBIs in leading the Raiders past Madison at the Ripken Experience Tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Steve Rohan added two hits, including a triple, and four RBIs.

Sophomore Seth Spooner had four hits for Columbiana in a 12-4 victory over Liberty. Spooner finished with a double and two RBIs. Junior Carson Dota had two hits and three RBIs.
