Lakeview, South Range boys win titles at Sim Earich Meet

BAZETTA — Lakeview and South Range boys cross country teams captured team titles at Saturday’s Sim Earich Meet at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds. Nate Charnas won the Division I & II boys title in a time of 16:48.39 to lead the Bulldogs, who had 37 points. Lakeview’s Caleb Carson (sixth, 17:42.52), Chris Bowman (eighth, 17:50.80), Zac Haley (ninth, 17:51.85), Landon Farr (13th, 18:16.03) and Hunter Picuri (15th, 18:31.51) finished in the top 15.

Niles McKinley’s Micah Curry was third (17:29.99), while Girard’s Ricky Marsico took fifth (17:41.02). Niles had runners in the top 15 like Nathan Lanham (seventh, 17:50.31), Ashton Russo (10th, 17:54.61) and Ryan Cline (12th, 18:11.78). Niles took third (55 points), while Girard was fourth (84).

South Range beat out McDonald for the boys D-III title, 41-59. Caleb Domitrovich took fourth to lead the Blue Devils (17:50.82), backed up by teammates Brian Fisher (seventh, 18:12.57), Juan Villanueva (12th, 18:30.92) and Sammy Gibbons (15th, 18:45.47). The Raiders were paced by the duo of Brian Standley (fifth, 17:53.64) and Connor Nichols (sixth, 18:09.04). South Range clustered the top 15 with Liam Justison (eighth, 18:16.29), Kaden Sykes (ninth, 18:20.80), Derek Rutledge (13th, 18:33.85), Alex Garwacki (14th, 18:34.96).

Bristol (129), Pymatuning Valley (134), LaBrae (185), Lordstown (207) and Brookfield (263) took places fifth through ninth, respectively.

Lakeview girls took third in the Division I & II race with 64 points, while Cardinal Mooney was fourth (137) and Girard seventh (152).

Sydney Dobler led Lakeview with a fourth-place finish (20:22.30), while other Bulldogs followed like Hailee Hoover (seventh, 20:31.14), Emily Bennett (eighth, 20:41.93). Mooney’s Sylvia Tsarnas was 12th (21:11.28). Pymatuning Valley girls were third (69) and South Range fourth (83) in the Division III race. Emily Razo led the Raiders with a second-place finish (21:04.33), with Tara Wine was 13th (22:16.78). Jackson-Milton’s Katie Campbell was seventh (21:45.48), while LaBrae’s Chloe Rose took eighth (21:59.22).

PV’s Josey Miller (10th, 22:06.44), Sara Tilton (11th, 22:08.17) and Reese Eichler (15th, 22:29.45) placed in the top 15.

Maplewood’s Brianna Starcher was 12th (22:08.62) and Abbey Nay took 14th (22:20.36).
