Boys high school basketball capsules – Jan. 11, 2022

Columbiana 73, East Palestine 14 – Nick Million scored a school-record 41 points Tuesday night, hitting nine 3-pointers en route to a dominating victory over East Palestine. Maddon Brown added 8 points and five assists in the win.

Boardman 71, Canfield 47 – The Spartans exploded for a season-high in total points as they cruised past the Cardinals Tuesday night. Trey DePietro scored a game-high 17 points while Brady DePietro chipped in 13 and Luke Ryan scored 12. Dom Cruz hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points for Canfield while Jake Grdic added 10.

Lowellville 65, Mineral Ridge 36 – Four players scored in double-digits as the Rockets cruised to a win over the Rams Tuesday night. Anthony Lucente led Lowellville with 15 points while Vinny Ballone chipped in 12, Brady Bunofsky scored 11 and Kyle Miller added 10.

McDonald 55, Sebring 36 – Gregory Costantino scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Blue Devils past Sebring as McDonald hit 11 treys in the game.

Girard 50, Niles 27 – The Indians jumped out to an early first half lead and never looked back Tuesday night en route to a 23-point victory. Thomas Caridero led Girard with 14 points and Gus Johnson chipped in 9. Stefan Dorsey led Niles with 8

Badger 68, Fairport Harding 67 – The Braves pulled out a close one Tuesday night as they held off Fairport Harding, behind the duo of Brad Hamilton and Heath Stanhope. Hamilton led the Braves with 23 points while Stanhope chipped in 21. Jack Lendak also scored 12 points in the win.

Struthers 49, South Range 46 – After only scoring three points in the second quarter, the Wildcats battled back in the second half to top the Raiders Tuesday night. Nick DelGratta scored 19 points and Sal Shaffer added 15 in the win. Dylan Turvey led South Range with 19 points.

LaBrae 84, Champion 33 – The Vikings put on the pressure and never let up en route to a dominating victory over the Golden Flashes on Tuesday. Devin Carter scored a game-high 24 points to lead LaBrae while Tre’Von Drake added 13, Aidan Stephens tallied 10, and Blake Kahnell contributed with 12. Mason McKinney led Champion with 12 points.

Warren JFK 69, Southeast 48 – Nick Ryan scored 15 points, Antwan Brown added 10 and the Eagles cruised to a 21-point victory. Jaden RIshel also added 9 in the victory.

West Branch 51, Marlington 48 – The Warriors continued their undefeated season on Tuesday, upending Marlington by three points after outscoring them 14-8 in the fourth quarter. Dru DeShields led the Warriors with 18 points while Jaxon Hendershott tallied 14.

Howland 71, Louisville 65 – Anthony Massucci hit seven 3-pointers and scored a game-high 36 points as the Tigers outlasted Louisville Tuesday night. Ben Bronson chipped in 13 points as well. Louisville had 3 players who scored 15 points or more.

Grand Valley 52, Cardinal 49 – The Mustangs held off Cardinal Tuesday night in a 3-point game. Hogan Hejduk led the way with 20 points and Caden Vetty chipped in 10.

Bristol 71, Pymatuning Valley 57 – Despite Tyler Britton’s 30-point performance, Bristol cruised by the Lakers Tuesday night. Mikey Burbach scored a team-high 21 points for the Panthers and Nick Church added 14.

Mathews 69, Chalker 49 – Three different players scored 17 points or more as the Mustangs outscored the Wildcats 35-21 in the second half to earn a 20-point victory. Vinnie Sharp led the way with 19 points while Ethan Petak chipped in 18 and Dom Greenwood tallied 17. James Stull led Chalker with 19 points and Jordan Kellar added 14.
