DEAR EDITOR:

I would like to recognize all the nurses, doctors and service workers at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and at Austintown Healthcare Center.

A little over a year ago, I injured my leg in Cleveland while slipping on ice. I was asked which hospital I wanted to go to, University Hospital or the Cleveland Clinic. My response was I would wait until I could get back to St. Elizabeth’s.

I spent more than two months there with a wound vac on my leg, and more rehab at Austintown Healthcare Center on Meridian Road.

They got me to where I can do most whatever I want. So to all those people — thank you for all you do under some difficult conditions. This is a time of year to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. You all are heroes in my book.
