Radical idea: Trump just needs to go
DEAR EDITOR:
Call me radical, but when the president of the United States, the leader of our nation and a symbol of democracy, calls for Democratic lawmakers to be killed, it is imperative that he be REMOVED from office. Such incendiary rhetoric not only undermines the fundamental principles of our democracy but also poses a severe threat to the safety and well-being of elected officials who serve to represent the people.
History has shown us the devastating consequences of political violence, as seen in events like the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln and the tragic shooting of Representative Gabby Giffords. In a time when political discourse should be characterized by respect and dialogue, the president’s words incite division and hostility, making it clear that his leadership is no longer tenable.
In light of this alarming behavior, it is crucial for Congress and the American public to demand accountability and ensure that those who threaten our democratic institutions are held responsible. The integrity of our democracy must be protected at all costs and allowing such dangerous rhetoric to go unchecked is simply unacceptable.
