DEAR EDITOR:

Why are only white people considered racist? For instance, if a black person says or does something derogatory against a Hispanic, is that racist? If a Hispanic says or does something derogatory against an Asian, is that racist? Asians about Europeans, etc. They say “Black lives matter.” True, but all lives matter.

The Declaration of Independence states that all men were created equal. Let’s treat everyone like that.

I don’t care if you’re white, black, green or purple — obey the law!

If lights and sirens come on behind you, pull over and stop! If the officer asks for your license and proof of insurance, show it to them. If they tell you to get out of the car, then get out of the car! If they tell you to jump, ask how high? In other words, if you have respect for the police, they will have respect for you.

A police officer doesn’t wake up in the morning and think to himself, “I wonder how many people I can kill today.”

They are sworn to protect and to serve. They put their lives on the line for us every day. But it seems only certain stories make the national news.

And will someone please explain to me how more violence, rioting, looting, burning, tearing down statues, more people dying, more people suffering will change anything? Maybe I’m old, maybe I’m stupid, but I just don’t get it.

Let’s all learn to care and respect each other, especially during this pandemic. We should be in a race to save the human race!
