Time to address funds for charter schools
DEAR EDITOR:
I read the article by Raymond Smith in the Feb. 7 Vindicator on school funding.
There have been other articles since the pandemic started about state budgeting for public schools, with budget cuts by the state and federal stimulus money coming in.
I have emailed our local state representative and the governor’s office about budget cuts and changes in funding for charter schools. I received back acknowledgement emails, but never received funding information for charter schools. I think this would be a great article to consider.
Our charter schools seem to be underperforming, costing us more money than public schools, and our governor has some financial investment in organizations that manage charter schools.
I hope you consider this suggestion.
