Mary E. Higham 1926-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Mary E. Higham, 99, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at the Inn at Old Saybrook.

She was born on Feb. 19, 1926, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mollie Restle Higham, and was a lifelong area resident.

She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, class of 1944.

Mary worked for 35 years in the pricing department at Youngstown Sheet & Tube and retired in 1981. She then started working at South Side Medical Center in the records department for another nine years.

Mary was a longtime member of St. Dominic Church; she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society and the Infant Jesus of Prague.

Left to cherish her memory are many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Benjamin C., Carl B., William J., Robert O., John S. and Richard T. Higham, and her sister, Virginia M. LaMar.

Family and friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday Dec, 4, 2025, at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dominic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown, celebrated by Rev. Charles Rooney, O.P.

Mary’s interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
