Donald F. Hutchinson Sr. 1934-2025
HARTFORD — Donald Frank Hutchinson Sr., 91, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 10, 2025, at Concord Care Center of Hartford.
Don was born June 7, 1934, in Yukon, W.Va., the son of Robert Bruce Hutchinson and Mary Ellen Addair Hutchinson.
In West Virginia, he worked in the coal mines, then in 1953, moved to Hubbard and met Rosalind “Rosie” Clark in 1955. They married on March 28, 1957.
He installed aluminum siding and also worked for Powell Pressed Steel in Hubbard.
He enjoyed spending time with family, hanging out with his cat, Friday dinners with family, watching television, especially Andy Griffith, and going to Dollar General and Sparkle Market to buy items like Copenhagen, Mountain Dew and Pepsi. He also enjoyed hanging up on the many telemarketers who would call him.
Don leaves his daughter, Donna (Bob) Durick of Lowellville; daughter, Sandra Hutchinson of Masury; son, Donald Jr. “Hutch” (Annette) Hutchinson of Masury; son, James (Stacy) Hutchinson of Lowellville; and daughter, Tracy (Ed) Zahniser, of Masury; grandchildren, Lauren (Ryan) Sereday, Ashley Hutchinson, Rachel (Christopher) Brinkley, Samantha Mays, Kristen DiClaudio, Evan Sanford (girlfriend, Ashlee Maiorano), Brayden Sanford, Aiden Hutchinson and Josephine Hutchinson; along with 13 great-grandchildren.
Furthermore, he leaves his sister, Nadine, of Dundalk, Maryland, and many nieces and nephews, as well as his good friends, George and Lois Taylor of Brookfield. And lastly, Don leaves his beloved cat, Miss Winnie, who will miss him dearly.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Rosie, who died May 28, 2003; second wife, Linda Curry, who died April 29, 2018; brothers, Clyde, Harold, Billy, Ronnie and infant James; sisters, Francis, Dorothy, Hazel, Hester and Judy; grandson, Tommy Hutchinson; and granddaughter, Kaitlan Myers Adams.
He attended Liberty Bible Church in Vienna.
Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at Briceland Funeral Home, 379 state Route 7 SE, Brookfield, OH 44403, with funeral services at 6 p.m.
