Mary K. Driscoll 1936-2025

WESTLAKE — Mary Katherine Meyer Driscoll died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at home in Westlake, surrounded by family.

Born Aug. 15, 1936, in Chicago, she was the eldest daughter of Winnifred Duffy Meyer and Theodore Meyer and raised in Glenview, Illinois.

She graduated from Barat College in 1958 with a degree in education.

In 1959, she married James Francis Driscoll of Flossmoor, Illinois. They had six children, 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Jim (Hilary) — Jim and Danielle of Littleton, Colorado; Culeen Carey (Fran) — Meredith, Caileigh, Shane and Catherine — of Lakewood; Julie (Doug) of Burr Ridge, Illinois; Turner, Carson and Scott, Patrick (Brenda) — Katelyn, Lauren and Haley — of Littleton, Colorado; Duffy (Molly) — Jack, Claire and Bridget — of New Albany; and Megan McGrath (Brendan Murphy) — Ciara and Tadgh — of Rush, Ireland.

In Youngstown, Mary Kay was an active member of the Junior League of Youngstown and Mary and Jim were involved with The Butler Museum of American Art, the Youngstown Symphony, St. Edwards Catholic Church, Ursuline High School and Villa Maria High School and the North Side Neighborhood Council.

Mary Kay is survived by her sister, Winifred, of Lakewood, Colorado, and predeceased by her parents, Theodore and Winifred Meyer; her siblings, Ted, Julie and Gretchen; and her in-laws, Anne and James F. Driscoll.

Many thanks to the nurses of the Hospice of the Western Reserve and friends and staff at The Concord Reserve.

A funeral Mass will take place Oct. 20 at St. Rafael Catholic Church in Bay Village, beginning with a visitation at 10 a.m., followed by Mass at 11 a.m.

She and Jim will be interred at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Evanston, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Rafael’s Catholic Church, Beatitude House, or the Butler Museum of American Art.
