James P. Rogers 1955-2025

SOUTHINGTON — James Paul Rogers passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, at his residence with his loving wife at his side after a long illness.
He was born May 17, 1955, the son of the late Henry G. Jr. and Nancy J. McKinstery, and was a lifelong area resident.
Jim attended Chaney High School and got his GED while in the military. He was a Vietnam veteran in the U.S Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1974.
Jim was a woodworker; he worked at Kraftmaid for 16 years and at the workshops of Gerald Henn and Ziebert. He retired in 2015.
He really enjoyed working around his home and his yard.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife, Diane E. Soroka, whom he married June 17, 1989; his son, James (Dezaray) Rogers Jr.; stepson, Robert A. (Ashley) Span Jr.; and five grandchildren, Xandra, Xaylin, Xavier, Diamond and Destiny.
He also leaves a brother, William Richard “Rick” (Linda) Rogers, and two sisters, Eva Rogers and Rebecca LaRocca.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Henry G. “Sonny” and Nancy Rogers; and his brother, Henry G. “George” Rogers.
A private family celebration will be held.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
