Denny Connors 1947-2021

Denny was the son of Harry (deceased) and Carol (Chase) Connors. He was the beloved husband of Renee Russell Connors; father to Colin (Annie) Connors, Meghan (Chris) Adamski and Kristen (Keith) Zabela; widower of Suzanne Klose-Connors; stepfather to Brittney, Michael and Scott Russell, Fred (Jen) Klose and Jason (Nikki) Klose; nephew of Nick (Sue) Chase; brother of Duke (Shawn) Connors, Charles (Nancy) Connors, Tommy Connors, John (John, deceased) Connors, Chris (Nancy) Connors, Carol Ann (Neal) Barkett and Kate Connors. He was the cherished “Pop” to Corbin, Ansley, Quinn, Cameron, Luke, Owen, Connor, Lily, Paige, Orion, Joey and Julie. He was “the Uncle Denny” to many nieces and nephews. He loved and was loved by many close friends and colleagues.

Denny was born June 11, 1947, and raised in Pittsburgh. He loved his country and was a proud veteran. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Thailand. After returning home, he attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He began his career in sales in the coal and mining industry, while raising his family in Bethel Park, Pa. He excelled as the director of sales and marketing at R.G. Brewton, before retiring in 2014. Denny enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, family and friends; and golfing, writing, beach vacations and emceeing the annual “Harryman.”

Denny was a romantic and always poured his heart into his passions. He was a story-teller at heart. In 2019, his candid memoir, “It’s Me, Until It’s You,” was published. He detailed his personal struggle with prostate cancer with the hope that it would raise awareness for others. While Denny had many professional and personal achievements, family was always the most important and he instilled that in his children.

Denny was the light of any room he was in — generous, kind and always lifting people up. His personality was as infectious as his laugh. His absence will always be felt and his shoes can never be filled.

Family and friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Today, Sept. 21, 2021, at the Warchol Funeral Home, 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, Pa., 412-221-3333. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at St. Barbara Church of Corpus Christi Parish.
