George E. DeZee 1941-2020
McDONALD — George E. DeZee, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at home, with his wife by his side.
He was born Jan. 19, 1941, in Warren, Ohio, the only son of the late George and Anna Zohn DeZee.
On June 17, 1988, George was united in marriage to the former Darlene Thorpe, who survives.
A graduate of Canfield High School, George worked as an insulator in the construction business for 40 years. Upon retirement, he spent his time repairing small engines. George and his son enjoyed attending NASCAR and stock car races. George was a member of Open Door Community Church where he volunteered his time cutting grass and raking leaves.
Besides his wife of 31 years, George is survived by his children, Robert DeZee, Melissa Hatfield and Kenneth (Ginger) Kostecky; one grandson; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Phyllis Welton.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Glendora Speicher.
Private services have been held with burial at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
