JoAnn M. Kornbau 1930-2020
COLUMBIANA — JoAnn M. Kornbau, 90, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at St. Mary’s Alzheimer Center in Columbiana.
JoAnn was born in Lisbon Feb. 25, 1930, a daughter of the late Louis and Helen Cox Hart.
She was a graduate of David Anderson High School, Kent State University and did post-graduate study at Youngstown State. JoAnn taught elementary school at Wellsville for 23 years. She was a member of Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church, where she served as church treasurer, vice president of the Women’s Association and taught Sunday school.
JoAnn enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Disney World. She also enjoyed attending numerous academic and athletic events of her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Kenneth (Barbara) Kornbau of Wellsville and David (Anita) Kornbau of Washingtonville; daughter Jeanne (Wilbur) Waggoner of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Sevenich, Katie Mayes, Jason (Jaime) Waggoner, Andrew (Kassandra) Kornbau, Kyle (Kathryn) Kornbau, Jill (Matt) Mallin, Autumn (Corey) Woods and Kristina (Joe) DeMaria; and 18 great-grandchildren.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil C. Kornbau.

A celebration of JoAnn’s life will be scheduled at a later date so family and friends can share the many happy moments of her life.
