Anne A. Palik 1928-2020

YOUNGSTOWN — Anne A. Palik, 91, passed away 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, at her residence.

She was born June 10, 1928, in Farrell, Pa., to George and Anna E. Kristan Palik.

Anne was a member of the former St. Ann Parish in Farrell and currently SS. Cyril and Methodius Parish in Youngstown. A graduate of Farrell High School class of 1946, she went on to earn a bachelor of science in education from Youngstown State University and graduate work from the University of Pittsburgh, Kent State University and the University of Guadalajara, Mexico.

For a while, she had worked in the payroll department of the former Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Sharon, Pa. She taught at the Youngstown, Girard and Canfield (middle school) districts.

Anne was a member of the Mahoning County Retired Teachers Association, the National Retired Teachers Association and AARP. She enjoyed gardening outside for her parish SS. Cyril and Methodius, and was named volunteer of the year in the parish.

She is survived by 10 nieces, Joanne Colla, Diane Powell, Pamela (William) Palik- Hechmer Jr., Tamara Weikart, Cynthia (Thomas) Constantonovich, Teresa (Darius) Gasparek, Timothea Gabriel, Christina Palik, Melanie (Joseph) Ringer and Sandy (Mike) Owens. Also surviving are many great-nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were three sisters, Margaret Ringer, Elizabeth Palik and Agnes Palik; and three brothers, John, George and Joseph Palik.

Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, Pa.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Matthew Strickenberger presiding, followed by burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Hermitage, Pa.
