Schon E. Gravely 1956-2020

YOUNGSTOWN — Mr. Schon E. Gravely, 63, known as to his family and friends as “Outlaw,” entered eternal rest Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Schon was born Sept. 8, 1956, in Roanoke, Va., a son of William Gravely and Lucy Jones Carter.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was formerly employed as a grinder in Columbus.

He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves cherished memories to his loving daughter, Jasmine Wilson of Cincinnati; his companion, Phyllis Wilson, with whom he made his home; his siblings, Michael (Brenda) McGeorge of Rock Island, Ill., Catherine Jones Harris of Youngstown, Michelle Scott of Atlanta and Jacqueline (Michael) Le’Mon of Vienna.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfathers who raised him, Hillard Jones and Joe Carter; his brothers, Donald McGeorge and William McGeorge; and a stepbrother, Melvin Jones.

A homegoing celebration in Mr. Gravely’s honor will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, at the Jaylex Event Center, Youngstown.

The family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the event center.
