Robert R. Davis 1938-2019

YOUNGSTOWN — Robert R. Davis, 81, died Friday evening, Sept. 27, 2019, at the Cleveland Clinic.

He was born Sept. 20, 1938, in Boardman, a son of Myron and Violet Thornquist Davis and had been a lifelong area resident.

He was a graduate of Boardman High School and had been a firefighter for the Boardman Fire Department retiring and an inspector after many years. He had also worked for 10 years as a deputy State Fire Marshal and had been active in the Arson Task Force of Mahoning County. Bob also was one of the first EMT instructors in Ohio and had been active in emergency management.

Bob was a member of Victory Christian Center, where he had served as an usher.

Besides his wife, the former Wanda Ryhal, whom he married Dec. 5, 1981, he leaves a son and a daughter; two stepchildren, Todd Crosby in Virginia and Jill (Dan) Pawlak of Youngstown; a brother, Albert M. (Betty) Davis of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Marjorie (Robert) DeHoff of Gainesville, Fla., and Marylee Perkins of Boardman; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Todd Davis, and a brother-in-law, Ray Perkins.

A service to celebrate Bob’s life will take place 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, at the Victory Christian Center offices, 15 New Bedford Road, Lowellville, Ohio 44436.
