WHAT: Board of education meeting Monday

PRESENT: Gerald Dubos, Jennifer Johnson, Joseph Sturm, Brian Wharry and Stephanie Yon

The board:

● Voted to place a 4.0-mill levy renewal for permanent improvements on the November ballot.

● Heard from Superintendent Christine Sawicki, who reported on theNutrition Group Inc., whose presentation will include information regarding the wellness assessment, nutritional assessment and related school policies, offerings and pricing for next school year.

● Also heard from Sawicki that the third annual quarter auction raised $12,838, which will directly support senior scholarships and provide educational opportunities for students,

● Approved financial reports, list of bills and expenses paid, and payroll for April

● Accepted a $300 donation by an anonymous donor to pay off some lunch debt.

● Voted to place a 4.0-mill levy renewal for permanent improvements on the November ballot. Accepted the retirement of second-grade teacher Laraine Matisi.

● Approved the following contracts: Nicholas Ballone, boys varsity basketball coach; Steve Procick, girls varsity basketball assistant coach; Joey Donatelli, boys varsity basketball assistant coach; Nicholas Matos, boys junior varsity basketball coach; Vinny Ballone, freshman boys basketball coach; Frank Bedenik, boys eighth-grade basketball coach; Tyler Cintron, junior class adviser; Jared Van Kirk, senior class adviser; Stephen Bada, cross country volunteer coach; Giovanni Docherty, cross country coach; Nicholas Matos, 7th and 8th grade football coach; and Laila Rivera, volleyball coach.
