YOUNGSTOWN — Kendall J. Jones, 29, of Carroll Street, pleaded guilty Monday to fentanyl-related compound possession, tampering with evidence and drug possession tied to a June 14 traffic stop in Youngstown.

Police said the incident began with an attempted traffic stop at Falls Avenue and Market Street. Jones led police to a house on Carroll Street.

Mike Rich, county assistant prosecutor, told Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court that prosecutors are recommending probation for Jones, but that he serve the first six months in the Mahoning County jail.

Jones, however, could get up to seven years in prison on the three felonies when he is sentenced at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 1.
