‘Patch Blast Trade-O-Ree’ coming to Camp Stambaugh

CANFIELD — A “Patch Blast Trade-O-Ree” is coming Aug. 21 to the Great Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America Camp Stambaugh.

If anyone has scouting items that they no longer want, the event is an opportunity to sell the items or perhaps find other items for a collection. This is the only Trade-O-Ree scheduled in northeast Ohio this year.

The event at 3712 Leffingwell Road runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be outdoors in the Brown Pavilion in the parking lot of the camp.

It’s hosted by The Camp Stambaugh Properties Committee. Open to the public, the proceeds benefit the work of the properties committee in maintaining and improving the camp.

Camp Stambaugh is the second-oldest, continuously operating Scout Camp in Ohio and tied for the ninth-oldest in the United States and is a site for an Ohio Historical Marker dedicated last August.

Vendors from Ohio and other areas of the country will be on hand to buy, sell and trade Scouting patches and all types of scout memorabilia. Scouts in uniform under 18 will be admitted free. Adult admission is $5 and youth 18 and under is $3.

Several vendor tables are still available by contacting Kurt Hilderbrand at krh23@msn.com. For more details, the Trade-O-Ree flyer can be found at the Boy Scout Trade-O-Ree Calendar page on the web at: https://www.bsator.com/event/patch-blast-trade-o-ree-state-ohio/ .

The Camp Stambaugh Museum will be open to the public as well as a display of the Sandy and Beaver Canal History and B.S.A. Camp McKinley History. Lunch will be available for purchase. The Marnoc Lodge, Order of the Arrow, also will have its trading post there.
