YOUNGSTOWN — Judge Maureen Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court granted judicial release Monday to Jamie D. Kozic, 41, formerly of Struthers, who spent more than nine years in prison on a series of burglaries.

Kozic was convicted of seven counts of burglary, one of attempted burglary, three of drug trafficking and one of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

The burglaries were committed in Columbiana, Mahoning, Trumbull and Geauga counties in late 2009 and early 2010.

Kozic began his prison sentence in September 2011. His sentence was scheduled to expire in March 2028.
