Friday was yet another record-setting day in the state for new coronavirus cases, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

The state reported 2,518 new cases, breaking the high record set Thursday of 2,425 new cases reported that day. That brings the state to 192,948 cases total, with 156,421 of the cases presumed recovered. The state reported 23 new deaths, bringing the total to 5,184.

If the upward trend continues, Ohio could top 200,000 cases by month’s end.

One new death was reported in Mahoning County, where 287 have died; the county saw 30 new cases, bringing the total to 3,739, up 263 cases since last Friday; 3,001 of the cases are presumed recovered.

Trumbull County saw 20 new cases Friday, for a total of 2,290, with no new deaths and 1,905 presumed recovered.

Five new cases were reported in Columbiana County, and no new deaths. There have been 2,133 cases reported, with 1,906 presumed recovered.
