Police seek help to find missing girl

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Police Department Family Investigative Services Unit is asking for the public’s help in locating a girl, 16, who has been missing since Sept. 15 and was reported as a runaway.

Taina E. Cuevas ran away from Byron Street on the city’s East Side, and her family has had no contact with her since Sept. 14. She packed a small bag that included medications and left her cellphone behind at her house.

She left a note saying she was running away. Her family said there have been possible sightings of her in the South Avenue area and possibly on the West Side near Tyrell Avenue, police said in a news release.

Cuevas is 5-foot-5 and 129 pounds with green eyes and brown hair. Anyone with information is asked to call 330-743-9380 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. After hours, call 330-742-8929.
