Man faces charges in bite case

YOUNGSTOWN — A man who told Boardman police he was “the devil’s hand” now faces an indictment at the hands of the judicial system.

Cinile M. Worsley, 20, of Youngstown, is accused of biting the hand that tried to arrest him.

He was indicted Thursday on two counts of felonious assault and other offenses related to an Aug. 12 incident in which he is accused of biting a Boardman police officer on the wrist.

In addition to felonious assault, Worsley was indicted on single counts of domestic violence, assault, obstructing official business and resisting arrest. He remains in the Mahoning County jail, records show.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment on West Boulevard in Boardman after a caller alleged that Worsley was knocking on her door and tried to stab her, according to a police report.

Officers reported that when they got there, Worsley was uncooperative and resisted them as they tried to place him in handcuffs. As he tried to run, an officer used a stun weapon on him, which “had minimal to no effect,” the report states.

At that point, he bit an officer on the wrist, police stated. The officer was taken to St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital for treatment.

Medical personnel arrived, along with more police, and Worsley was sedated because of his combative behavior.

When police asked Worsley who he was, he said “the devil’s hand,” the police report states.

Witnesses stated they had locked Worsley out of their apartment because of his strange behavior. A text message among the friends and Worsley’s girlfriend stated that Worsley pulled his girlfriend out of the shower and tried to stab her, police said.

A witness told police Worsley had texted “strange messages” for several days.
