YOUNGSTOWN — A man was shot in the leg Saturday but was in stable condition.

A vehicle entered the parking lot of Mercy Health Youngstown Hospital at 5:35 p.m. Saturday and dropped off a city man, 23, before driving away.

A witness said after the vehicle pulled in the lot, the victim jumped out of the passenger seat then fell to the ground. He yelled at hospital personnel that he had been shot, and they rushed him into the hospital.

The victim told police he and his brother were driving on Albert Street when someone in another vehicle passed them and started firing a gun. His brother drove him to the hospital, he said.

The victim did not provide many details, including his brother’s name or if he knew who shot him, police said. Police also could not find a crime scene.
