• The75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz will be marked during the Holocaust Remembrance Commemoration locally this spring with a candle lighting processional commemorating the martyrs of the Holocaust and recognition of the winners of the student Holocaust writing/multimedia contest on April 21 at Mahoning County Courthouse.

• A Shoah Memorial Ceremony will be 4 p.m. April 26 at Jewish Community Center to recognize all victims of the Holocaust. Survivor Erica Gold of Cleveland will be the guest speaker.

• The contests of writing, art and film, are for students in grades 7 to12 in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys. Deadline entry is April 7. Information can be found at jewishyoungstown.org or call 330-746-3251.
