Robb files for judge re-election

YOUNGSTOWN — Judge Carol Ann Robb of the 7th District Court of Appeals filed nominating petitions for re-election.

Robb of New Waterford will run in the March 2020 Republican primary. Dec. 18 is the filing deadline.

She is seeking a second six-year term.

Robb said she will spend $150,000 of her own money on her campaign.

The district includes eight counties: Mahoning, Columbiana, Belmont, Carroll, Harrison, Jefferson, Monroe and Noble.

Robb’s campaign said she has the endorsements of the sheriffs from seven of the eight counties, including Democrat Jerry Greene of Mahoning County, who’s also filed to run for re-election next year. The only sheriff not listed as endorsing her is Charles R. Black Jr. in Monroe County.

The seat’s term begins Feb. 9, 2021.

Also, Judge Cheryl L. Waite of Poland is up for re-election next year. First elected to the court of appeals in 1996, she is expected to file in the Democratic primary.

That term begins Feb. 10, 2021.
