Man arraigned on fleeing charge
AUSTINTOWN — Brandon R. Ferrier, 23, of Stoneybrook Lane in Canfield, was arraigned Wednesday in Austintown Area Court on failure to comply with the orders of a police officer in a Nov. 6 hit-skip accident on Allendale Avenue.
No plea was required, and bond was set at $10,000.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Ferrier fled from a Mahoning County Sheriff’s deputy who tried to pull him over on a traffic stop. Ferrier went around a garbage truck and struck a worker, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, troopers said.
Ferrier was arrested later that day after crashing in the New Philadelphia area.
