Baby injured in house fire remains in hospital ICU

STRUTHERS — An infant burned in a large house fire near the intersection of Sexton Street and Dogwood Drive in Struthers around 4 p.m. Friday was flown to Akron Children’s Hospital, according to reports.
Police told 21-WFMJ that the infant boy was in the intensive care unit Saturday afternoon with third-degree burns to more than 33 percent of his body.
He was expected to undergo surgery.
Struthers police said the mother, who is of Portuguese descent, is in stable condition.
Witnesses said she ran into the burning home Friday and returned with the baby.
