Two injured in two traffic crashes in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — Two motorists were injured in two recent traffic crashes on the South Side.

Sophia Beal, 38, of 240 E. LaClede Ave., was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital with minor injuries after a two-car crash Sunday morning at Indianola and Gibson avenues, a police report states. Beal’s 2005 Ford Expedition was southbound on Gibson and collided with a westbound 2005 Honda Accord driven by Elie Faraj, 34, of Boardman. No one was cited, and Faraj was not injured.

At 1:42 a.m. Monday, Albert Boykin, 27, of 575 Cohasset Drive was taken to St. Elizabeth with minor injuries after his northbound 2007 Chevrolet went out of control on South Avenue striking a utility pole off the west side of the street. Boykin was cited for failure to control and driving under suspension, a report states.
