YOUNGSTOWN — Kyle Rice, 30, is going to trial on an aggravated murder charge accusing him of killing his ex-girlfriend inside her Oregon Avenue home in February.

Rice appeared for a pretrial hearing Wednesday before Judge Anthony Donofrio of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, but there was no resolution. His trial date is Oct. 21.

Rice and the woman, Danekua Bankston, had three children together, according to the Tribune Chronicle’s broadcast partner, WKBN TV-27.
