Two young males plead guilty to reduced charges in shooting deaths

YOUNGSTOWN — Two young men pleaded guilty today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to reduced charges in separate killings.

Anthony Davis, 19, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and two counts of aggravated robbery in the March 22, 2018, shooting death of Damon Marinoff, 15, of Farrell, Pa., who came to Youngstown to sell two iPhones at an address on Sherwood Avenue.

Davis entered an Alford plea, in which the defendant does not admit guilt but concludes the consequences of going to trial are too great.

Earlier today, Charles K. Sidberry, 20, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping, assault and a gun specification in the Oct. 3, 2020, shooting death of Issak Villarreal, 19, in Boardman. Prosecutors say Villarreal met up with Sidberry to buy a gun.
