Mon. 10 a.m.: Agencies to sponsor a Youngstown city prom
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program and a group of community agencies have joined to sponsor a Youngstown city prom for the graduates of 2020 and 2021.
As a result of Ohio stay-at-home orders and state restrictions, Youngstown City School District schools were not able to have a prom the last two school years.
To show the graduates the support of their community, a collaboration was formed to help them celebrate their achievements.
This event will be Friday at the Byzantine Center at the Grove, from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.com and at 1327 Florencedale Ave., for $15.
Community partners are Youngstown UMADAOP, Oakhill Neighborhood Association, A.C.T.I.O.N, Centering Pregnancy with Mercy Health, Coalition for Health Promotions, Minority Health of Youngstown City Health District, DivaDonations and others.
